The Phoenix Board is Moving!
The address will be the same as before except that it will use an encrypted connection now so the new address will be https://www.buffistas.org instead of http://www.buffistas.org. You can return here for updates on the progress.
The moving process will start at 10:00 PM Eastern Time October 31st, 2020. After that time, no new posts will be migrated! That's 2:00 AM November 1st in GMT, and 7:00 PM October 31st for Pacific Time.

Do I have to create a new account?
No, your old account will be migrated over. However, you will be required to change your password so that it can be made more secure. You can use the same password if you want.
Will all the old posts be gone?
No, all the current threads will be migrated. Even the closed ones.
If I was an admin on the old site, will I be on the new site.
Yes, the admins won't change.
How about the FAQ page, the Equitte page, and all that jazz?

Working on it too, but it will take a bit. There's a lot of filk.
Is Javascript required now?
No, very little javascript is used and it isn't required to use the board. Some administration stuff needs it, but that doesn't affect general usage.
Can I use my own stylesheet like on the old board?
Unfortunatley, no. Styling is more complex on the new site and making it work with custom stylesheets is more difficult. Maybe in the future.

The new site is much more secure, especially with protecting passwords.

The new site uses responsive design, making the site much easier to read on mobile devices.

Full text search
The new site takes advantage of the database's full search ability to make searches faster and better.
Cleaner code base
The new site uses Ruby on Rails and HTML templates. Also, the source hosted on Gitlab for source code control. This will make changes much easier to impement.
